The incumbent will have primary responsibility for the Trauma Program Management under the direction of the Director of Trauma. This individual is responsible for coordinating all activities as they relate to the trauma system. (registry data collection, performance improvement, research projects, maintaining Level 1 status and other endeavors to support the trauma system). The Trauma Nurse Manager serves as a resource for pre-hospital and hospitals within the Western New York region. The TNP implements, educates and plans community programs to reduce the incidence of trauma; professional programs related to trauma care, implements and coordinates an overall performance improvement program for trauma services; represents WCHOB at local and statewide trauma activities; assures compliance with New York State Department of Health and American College of Surgeons and performs duties as determined by the Trauma Medical Director and Surgical Services Director.
AAS or Bachelors Degree in Nursing required. Masters Degree in Nursing, Healthcare or similar. Current NYS registration as a Registered Professional Nurse. Pediatric Advanced Lift Support (PALS) Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) required within one (1) year of hire/transfer into position. Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required within one (1) year of hire/transfer into position.
