In keeping with the Pacific Central Coast Health Center philosophy, the receptionist supports and promotes excellent customer service.

Job Responsibilities

Actively participates as a team member in the systems, functions, and activities of the health center. Duties include but are not limited to: handling incoming calls and direct them as necessary. Register and pre-register patients, ensure insurance authorizations have been obtained if required. Schedule appointments and coordinate procedures as necessary.

Job Requirements

Minimum Required:

  • At least three years experience as a receptionist working in a medical clinic setting or closely related field.

 

Preferred:

  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Medical Terminology

Experience in the healthcare field in research, administrative, or clinical support. Experience with coding. 2 years healthcare, 1 year in research, administrative, or clinical support 3 years healthcare/2 years research, administrative, or clinical support Training in data collection preparation, advanced entry skills in computerized research database or advanced administrative support skills Facile with computers (Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint), SPSS, Meditech. Proficient with computers (Microsoft Office) SPS Advanced skills in Microsoft programs, strong verbal, writing and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate the ability to work with various hospitals departments and physicians. Ability to exercise good judgement and maintain strict confidentiality in all job related matters. Detail oriented with good organizational skills. Ability to balance heavy workload, prioritize as efficiently and meet deadlines. Demonstrated excellent patient care and interpersonal skills that reflect a positive attitude and a sense of commitment to the department, work associates and community. Word, PowerPoint. Strong problem solving and time management. Ability to do basic arithmetic calculations. Wiliness to learn. Excel, Access Will need to become a Certified Registrar if not already
