TCAR courses switching to “anytime, anywhere” format

TCAR Education Programs has announced that it is phasing out both its onsite and live online classes. Starting in July 2023, all TCAR (Trauma Care After Resuscitation) and PCAR (Pediatric Care After Resuscitation) courses will be exclusively available as on-demand online educational opportunities.

Laura Criddle, PhD, RN, TCRN, FAEN
Chief Clinical Officer of TCAR Education Programs

“This switch to an exclusive ‘anytime, anywhere’ format will make these ACS-recognized trauma training programs more affordable and more widely available to learners on all shifts, anywhere in the world,” said Laura Criddle, PhD, RN, TCRN, FAEN, chief clinical officer of TCAR Education Programs.

Along with the new format, TCAR and PCAR course material and manuals have been updated and upgraded. Features include:

  • Over 700 interactions to enhance learner engagement
  • The popular “Ask a Trauma Nurse” button (ask a question and receive individual feedback from a TCAR faculty member)
  • More than 2,000 references and resources
  • 1,000+ glossary of key terms
  • Closed captioning for the hearing impaired
  • Both U.S. English and British English versions
  • 16 hours of ANCC-approved education divided into 80 bite-sized segments
  • Easy course management from your online dashboard

TCAR and PCAR were specifically designed to address the learning needs of nurses and other clinicians who care for trauma patients after the resuscitative phase of care, in emergency, perioperative, critical care, acute care and rehabilitation settings.

Both courses are recognized in Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient from the American College of Surgeons (ACS) as appropriate trauma education for nurses (see Standard 8.2).
