Survey will explore the state of trauma education

0
By Shane Urban BSN RN CCRC on July 10, 2023 Research

The University of Colorado Hospital, in partnership with Trauma System News, is conducting a survey to explore the current trauma education landscape and identify ways to improve trauma educational offerings.

The purpose of the survey is to learn:

  • What education do trauma team members currently have
  • What educational and learning opportunities are made available to them
  • Their level of satisfaction with available CE and learning opportunities
  • What other learning opportunities they would find valuable

As you know, the American College of Surgeons (ACS) requires trauma education for staff nurses who are responsible for the care of trauma patients (Standard 8.2). Therefore, if you are a trauma program manager, the survey will ask you additional questions about the specific trauma education your trauma center offers to fulfill the ACS education requirement.

The survey is anonymous and only takes a minute to complete. It is open to all trauma program/department team members — trauma program managers and directors, trauma nurse clinicians/coordinators, process improvement specialists, injury prevention coordinators and trauma registrars.

If your trauma center is not verified by the ACS — or if it is located outside the United States — you are still welcome to participate in this survey. We would like to learn more about your center as well!

The Trauma Center Educational Offerings survey will be open through the end of September 2023. You can access the survey by clicking the following link or scanning the QR code below with any smart device.

Survey: Trauma Center Educational Offerings

Thank you for your time and consideration! We look forward to sharing our findings at the next Society of Trauma Nurses annual meeting — TraumaCon 2024.
