Burn Center Program Manager – Trauma Program
University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC)

University Medical Center of El Paso is seeking a dedicated and experienced Burn Center Program Manager to join our Trauma Program. In this leadership role, you will work under the direction of the Administrative Director of the Trauma Program to oversee all aspects of our Burn Program. You will collaborate closely with Medical Directors and department Managers to coordinate, monitor, promote, and evaluate the program’s components.

The Burn Center Program Manager ensures the Burn Program complies with all relevant standards and regulatory requirements, including those set by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and the American Burn Association (ABA), to achieve and maintain designation and verification as a Burn Center.

Qualifications

Experience & Education:

Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in Emergency, Critical Care, and/or Trauma settings.
Prior experience in burn care and involvement in performance improvement initiatives focused on enhancing patient care quality is preferred.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing is preferred.
Licensure & Certification:

Must hold a current and active Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas.
Current CPR certification is required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) certifications must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
Certified Burn Registered Nurse (CBRN) certification must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
Completion of Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) required within 1 year of joining the department.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong leadership with the ability to foster teamwork and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
Effective negotiation and mediation skills to align diverse perspectives toward common goals.
Proficient in teaching, presenting, and marketing program initiatives.
Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning skills.
Demonstrated success in planning and implementing large-scale projects or improvement initiatives.
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with community agencies and stakeholders.
