BCEN Learn Live conference debuts spring 2022

The inaugural Learn Live conference from the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) will take place May 18-20 in Orange Beach, Alabama.

This in-person educational event is designed specifically for nurses working across the emergency spectrum, including trauma nurses, adult and pediatric emergency nurses, flight nurses and transport nurses.

Learn Live will feature presentations on a range of topics relevant to emergency nurses and the patients they serve. Topics and guest speakers include:

  • Burn, Baby Burn – Stabilization and Treatment of Burn Injuries (Lori Chiappetta)
  • ECMO, E-CPR, and Utilization of the New Technologies in the ED (Chris Trosclair)
  • Hurricane Prep: How New Orleans Nurses Plan for Natural Disasters (Sarah McLelland)
  • Outside the Box: Personal and Professional Growth to Impact Patient Care (Hollye Briggs)
  • REBOA: The When, Why, and How (Brody Eick)
  • The Day the Building Collapsed: What Are We Actually Training For? (Michael Dexter)
  • What I Learned From Bad Nurse Leaders (Janie Schumaker)
  • Who is Writing Your Story? (Deb Spann)

The conference starts with an evening Beachside Reception and networking event. The first full day of the conference begins with the “Certibration Breakfast” featuring an inspiring, high-energy presentation by keynote speaker Clint Pulver.

Learn Live will take place at Perdido Beach Resort on the Gulf of Mexico. Attendees are eligible for up to 15 CE credits. Individuals do not need to be certified to attend the conference.
