BCEN 2026-2027 board welcomes new trauma experts

The Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN) recently announced its 2026-2027 board of directors.

The new board comprises national experts in adult and pediatric emergency, flight, critical care ground transport, trauma and burn nursing — including two new members with extensive backgrounds in trauma quality and trauma program leadership:

Rebecca Geyer

Rebecca Geyer, MSN, RN, TCRN, the director of performance improvement for the Pennsylvania Trauma Systems Foundation.

Pamela Vanderberg

Pamela Vanderberg, MSN, MBA, CEN, TCRN, vice president of trauma and burn services at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

In addition, the new chairperson of the BCEN board of directors is Julie Ruddy, BS, RN, CEN, CPEN, TCRN, who has more than 40 years of experience in emergency, trauma and acute care nursing.

BCEN’s board of directors oversees the organization’s strategic direction including activities pertaining to the quality and rigor of BCEN’s six accredited and Magnet-accepted national nursing specialty certification programs, its award-winning BCEN Learn continuing education platform and other certification support services and resources.
