Nominations now open for the 2024 Peregrine Award for Trauma Innovation

By Trauma News on January 15, 2024 Program Management

Trauma System News and Peregrine Health Services are pleased to announce that nominations are now being accepted for the 2024 Peregrine Award for Trauma Innovation.

The goal of the Peregrine Award is to recognize fresh ideas that result in better care for injured patients.

The award was introduced in 2023, and more than 50 trauma teams submitted nominations during the inaugural year. Going into the second annual program, Peregrine Health Services is honored to sponsor this unique recognition within the world of trauma.

“We were overwhelmed by the response that the Peregrine Award for Trauma Innovation received last year, so we all very excited to launch this year’s program,” said Angie Chisolm, managing partner of Peregrine Health Services.

“Trauma care professionals are some of the most creative and resourceful people in healthcare, and they are constantly developing innovative solutions to complex challenges,” she said. “The Peregrine Award is our effort to recognize these innovative trauma teams and help share their ideas to the entire trauma community.”

Open to trauma center teams and regional trauma networks

The Peregrine Award defines “trauma innovation” as any creative solution to a problem in trauma patient care or trauma program management. Representatives from any trauma center or regional trauma network worldwide may nominate their organization for an award.

Winners of the Peregrine Award for Trauma Innovation will be selected by an independent panel of trauma experts, and awards will be given in two separate categories.

“Innovation is not limited by resources, and we see this very clearly in the trauma centers we work with,” said Mark Feinberg, managing partner of Peregrine Health Services. “That’s why the Peregrine Award is given to one winner for Level I or II trauma centers and one winner for Level III, IV or V trauma centers.”

Each winner will receive a financial grant that can be directed to the program need of its choice. The Level I-II winner will receive $2,500, and the Level III-IV-V winner will receive $2,500.

The winners will also be honored during our special “Profiles in Trauma Innovation” online event taking place in May 2024.

In addition, both winners — and every semifinalist — will be profiled in the Trauma Innovation Special Report, a special issue of Trauma System News that will be published in June 2024.
