Do you know a certified trauma or burn nurse who deserves to be recognized for their professionalism and clinical excellence?

Nominations are now open for the Distinguished TCRN Award and the Distinguished CBRN Award from the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN).

  • The Distinguished TCRN Award is presented annually to a Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN) who stands out for clinical excellence, professionalism, and leadership in support of nursing specialty certification.
  • New this year, the Distinguished CBRN Award will be awarded to an outstanding Certified Burn Registered Nurse (CBRN). The CBRN certification program was launched in Fall 2023, and nearly 500 nurses practicing in civilian and military settings have earned this burn nursing credential.

BCEN also offers distinguished nurse awards for certified nurses in the emergency, pediatric emergency, flight and critical care ground transport specialty areas.

“The importance of recognizing RNs who are committed to practicing at the very top of their specialties cannot be understated,” said BCEN CEO Janie Schumaker, MBA, BSN, RN, CEN, ICE-CCP, CENP, CPHQ, FABC. “And, for the first time, BCEN’s Distinguished Awards will recognize a top board certified nurse in all six specialty areas we serve.”

To nominate a colleague or yourself for the Distinguished TCRN award, the Distinguished CBRN Award or any other BCEN award, visit the award nomination page.

Nominations will be accepted through March 2, and winners will be announced later this spring.
