Webinar: Strategies for Closing the New “Skills Gap” in ED and Trauma Nursing

0
By Trauma News on October 26, 2023 Program Management

The loss of experienced nurses during the pandemic has created a significant skills gap in Emergency Departments. In many hospitals, new nurses make up more than half of the ED workforce — and fewer experienced nurses are available to share their knowledge and ensure the highest-quality emergency and trauma care. This gap has increased stress and burnout, leading to further staffing shortages.

This webinar spotlights two strategies that emergency departments and trauma centers are using to close the nursing skills gap and maintain a full ED workforce.

Kris Powell, MSN, RN, AGACNP-BC, CEN, NEA-BC, FAEN, explains how Baylor Scott & White rapidly implemented a team care model that ensures quality and helps newer nurses thrive.

Regina Nuseibeh, MSN, RN, AGCNS-BC, TCRN, explains how the new virtual mentor program at Franciscan Health Lafayette East provides both invaluable support for novice nurses and schedule flexibility for experienced nursing team members.
