Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo., was recently re-designated as a Level III trauma center by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services’ Unit of Emergency Medical Services.

“The multidisciplinary, systematic approach to care within our trauma system is key and was favorably commented on more than once during the on-site review,” said Robert Grayhek, MBA, BSN, RN, Director of Patient Logistics and Trauma Services. “If anyone on the team drops the ball, it can greatly affect the patient’s experience and outcome. The reaccreditation is a tribute to everyone on the team – including people that clean the room, dietitians, nurses, and doctors and surgeons – everyone has a critical role in delivering this high level of care, and I am very thankful for their great participation.”

Saint Francis is the only state-accredited Level III trauma center in the Cape Girardeau region. Read More
