The University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (UCSF) will host its annual high-risk emergency medicine conference this spring in Hawaii. “High Risk Emergency Medicine Hawaii 2017” will take place April 9-13 at the Wailea Beach Marriott Hotel in Maui.
This conference is designed to address those topics that, due to the risk of misdiagnosis or misadventure, produce the greatest concern in the daily practice of emergency medicine. World-class speakers will present on a range of topics related to trauma and other issues. Sessions will include:

- Stop the Bleeding (Dr. Stuart Swadron)
- Intubation in the Unstable Patient (Dr. Diane Birnbaumer)
- The Combative, Intoxicated Patient (Dr. Christopher Colwell)
- Giving Bad News in the ED (Dr. Diane Birnbaumer)
