28th May Day Trauma Conference to be held in North Carolina

UNC Tar Heel Trauma will host the 28th Annual May Day Trauma Conference on May 3 & 4, 2017, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. This two-day conference is designed to meet the educational needs of all healthcare professionals involved in the care of trauma patients.

Nationally recognized experts will present on topics ranging from pre-hospital care and emergency medicine to disaster preparedness and rehabilitation. Topics and speakers include:

  • “Experience in Dallas” (Alex Eastman, MD, MPH, FACS)
  • “Pediatric Prehospital Trauma Management” (Joseph Grover, MD)
  • “Use of FAST During Trauma Resuscitation Management” (Michelle Brownstein, MD, FACS)
  • “All Too Real: Lessons Learned From a UNC Active Shooter Exercise” (Expert panel)
  • “Pediatric Palliative Care” (Elisabeth Potts Dellon, MD, MPH)
  • “Lessons Learned From Hurricane Matthew” (Expert panel)
  • “Rural Trauma Management” (Eric Toschloge, MD, FACS, FCCM)
  • “Blast Injuries” (Robert Bradford III and LTC (ret) and James Reed, CRNA, MSN)
  • “Treatment of the Trauma Patient on Anti-coagulation Therapy” (Ed Sredzienski, MS Pharm)
  • “ATV Injuries in Kids; It’s Worse Than You Think” (Robert P. Foglia, MD, FACS, FAAP)
