Work that Matters

The trauma team provides a complete continuum of pediatric trauma care, combined with an active program of education, research and prevention, in addition to maintaining CHLA’s verification as a Level 1 Peds Trauma Center. The Senior Trauma Registrar collects and collates trauma patient care data for Los Angeles County’s regional database, (Trauma and Emergency Medical Information System – TEMIS); Abstracts data from charts and billing office; Enters data in standard format; Performs ICD-10 coding, and AIS Injury Severity Scoring on all trauma patients’ diagnoses. Designs TEMIS reports for analyzing trauma data for quality improvement and research activities. Facilitates trauma related meetings, and assists with special projects as needed.
